Meet Melissa Farrell, the talented baker behind Rosemary Cakes a small business built on passion, creativity, and a love for all things sweet. Melissa’s baking journey began back in 2017, where she started by recreating bakes she’d seen others make. Like many, lockdown became a turning point. With more time to experiment, she began developing her own recipes and refining her unique style, laying the foundations for the thriving business she runs today.
What started as a passion has grown into something much bigger. Alongside crafting beautiful occasion cakes, Melissa now supplies a range of delicious treats, including brownies, blondies, and cakes to several local businesses.
Earlier this year, Melissa took an exciting leap and opened her very own cake shed, inspired by the growing Cake Shed community. Previously based in a shop on Market Street, she quickly outgrew the space. Moving back home gave her the freedom to expand and opening her shed has proven to be one of the best decisions she’s made.
But it doesn’t stop there. Melissa also runs children’s baking workshops, mainly during the summer months. These sessions offer a fun, hands-on experience where kids can get creative in the kitchen and learn new skills each week.
Looking ahead, Melissa has big ambitions for Rosemary Cakes. With a genuine passion for baking and a love for creating treats that bring people together, the future is looking incredibly sweet.
